SS Pontic was a tender and baggage vessel of the White Star Line that was built in 1894 by Harland & Wolff Ltd, Belfast, United Kingdom. She was sold in 1919 and continued in that role. In 1925, she was sold and used as a collier. She was scrapped in 1930.

Details of Career
The Jackal was a Cunard tug and tender based at Glasgow. It was built in 1853 and was registered as
owned by Burns and MacIver. It had new boilers fitted in 1862 and passed into full Cunard ownership in
1879. In 1888 it was moved to be based in Liverpool. At some time during the 1890's it was broken up at
Tranmere, on the banks of the Mersey.
