FDD55 Floating Dry Dock 2/2.zip

"FDD55" is a fictional floating dry dock for Vehicle Simulator (VSF), intended for those who like to practice slow and precise harbour manoeuvres, and especially for those who like to contemplate beautiful hulls.
It is designed to mimic floating dock operations allowing ship to come in the partly submerged dock and to be lifted when the dock is raised back.
Although it is possible to design vessels with ballasts (subs) for use in VSF, the feature is not appropriate for a pontoon that needs to be submerged at defined height.
The "FDD55" is a floating dry dock classified as a ship and therefore handled as a non-propelled vessel. The ballast is managed by adjusting the load.
Main characteristics:
Capacity 80,000t
Pontoon overall length 263m
Pontoon overall width 54,92m
Clear inner width between timber fenders 44,90m
Draft 5,50m
Maximum draft 17,80 m
Minimum freeboard 3,55 m
Keel boxes height 1,83m
2 wingwall rail-mounted cranes capacity 20t each
Hinged communication bridges at the bow
The model features:
- Animated cranes (ctrl+A) including workers on the main deck
- Animated communication brigdes (G)
- Lighting on the upper deck (flood lights) and the wings (under deck spots) activated by anchor light command in lights panel
- Adjusted docking points as well as hook points
- Predefined viewpoints
Before operating "FDD55" make sure that the vessel to be accommodated has the property [has_deck]=0, that the general graphic option "Hide Water in Cabin" is off, and that the weather conditions are suitable.

This is a repaint of Alex Beaut's Carpathia. I do not own the rights to this ship model. SS Birma was a British-built transatlantic passenger ship. She was built in 1894 by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company in Govan, United Kingdom, as Arundel Castle and later went through numerous ownership and name changes, including coming into the hands of the Russian American Line. In 1912, Birma was one of the ships to respond to the sinking of RMS Titanic. She was broken up in 1924 following acquisition by a German line after a liquidation sale. |

ATTENTION:
A THIS is the BIGGEST sailor for ever made for Vehicle Simulator
Ship:
X There is no boat configuration (boat.cfg) file in this archive, so the Titanic add-on will Coast Guard will not work for Vehicle Simulator users (unless you are desperate).
Just enjoy the ship.
Experters:
Y Fictional Ship. Over 900 feet! Ship of the Fictional Bingus Line based in Mobile, Alabama.

Stern trawler Princesse 1/2.zip
Size: 17.2 MB |
The trawler Princesse is a fictional model inspired by a serie of steel stern trawlers built in the 70's-80's in France: La Déferlante, Diego Maeva, Côte d'Ambre, Maliwan, Le Diamant Vert, Melphys, Lea Marie...
Most of them were built in Vergoz shipyard in Concarneau and have been operating from Saint Nazaire, Lorient, Arcachon, all ports located on the French Atlantic coast. They were known to be very seaworthy and resistant.
Princesse's main characteristics are La Déferlante's ones:
Displacement 84.45t
Length overall 16.00m
Water line 14.32m
Moulded Beam 5.36 m
Max draft to DWL 2.74 m
Engine Caterpillar 3208 (1000-2600RPM)
Power 329 BHP
The model features:
- genuine Caterpillar 3208 engine sound,
- max speed 8,4 knots at 2600 RPM.
- fishing vessel navigation lights (activated by anchor light command in lights panel),
- swinging cabin door,
- sliding cabin door giving access to the galley,
- swinging door giving access to front deck (sweeping wings command),
- animation (control+A) changing the configuration of the stern deck when trawling,
- animation (Gear/G) stowing fenders and closing access door to the crew compartment,
- adjusted docking points as well as anchor point,
- adjusted position of the hook to hide the tow rope during trawling.
Designed and optimized for VSF 2.7.6 only. Not working in VS NG so far (version 8.8 checked).
This file also includes Chris Johnston's version of light.dds originally provided with his "Flatbed_V2" add-on. It should be copied to the "graphics" folder [don't forget to make a backup copy of the original].

Pelagic trawl nets

These trawls can simulate trawling operations.
They are primarely designed and optimized for my trawlers "PRINCESSE" and "SAGAR" which power and speed had been carefully calibrated.
Naturally they can be used with other fishing boat models, after all, it's all about the tow.
The difference may be in how you'll feel the drag of the trawl
depending on the size and power of the boat you are using.
4 trawls are available. They are submerged vehicles [however boats not
submarines] without propulsion and which can be towed.
They are geometrically identical but "float" at different depths -20m, -50m, -100m and -200m, with a setting margin provided by the loading slider [in %] in the vehicle menu.
Note: by adjusting the depth of the net below its nominal value, the trawl will take on a certain horizontal speed that will eventually dissipate, but oddly there will be always less drag.
Designed and optimized for VSF 2.7.6 only. Cannot properly work in VS NG which needs specific design.
